DOMINIQUE – GEORGES - FREDERIC DUFOUR DE PRADT: De la Grece dans ses rapports avec l Europe. Paris-Rouen 1822 Second edition. In 8vo 21 x 13 cm, contemporary leather rebacked, some light wear at covers, edges marbled. Text clean and bright, with a few scattered spots on some pages. Complete: [14], 111 p. Overall in very good condition. De Pradt was a French diplomat, who served as secretary to Napoleon and later as ambassador. After Napoleon’s defeat, he became a writer on diplomatic issues. This is one of the very first accounts on the diplomatic questions surrounding the Greek War of Independence, written when a Greek victory first appeared possible. Strongly Philhellenic, De Pradt correctly pointed out in this very early work, composed at the beginning of the Revolution, that the only real danger for the Greeks was their internal disorder.
