A RARE book providing a detailed image of the Ottoman Levant during the mid-18th century. Full of geographical and historical details, the author explained the administrative structure of the Ottoman Empire, its trade, population, alliances, and negotiating skills, which allowed the Ottomans, although they lost the war of 1737–39, to gain territories through diplomacy.
