Complete: [12], [1], 274, [1] pp., followed by 30-page appendix, most likely a κατὰ στίχον, κατὰ σύστημα analysis of the iambic compositions. Overall in very good condition. By the mid-19th century, the timeless works of ancient Greek literature, tragedies and comedies alike, were being translated into even the less common European languages, a striking testimony to their universality. This edition presents Aristophanes’ “Birds” in Norwegian. A rarity.
