Manuscript ownership inscription of William St Clair on front pastedown with a few notes by him. Overall in very good condition, with fine provenance.< Von Arnim (1779–1861), a German traveler and travel writer, journeyed widely through Europe. In the 1830s he visited southern Europe, and as newly independent Greece had a German king, he traveled to the Ionian Islands (the folding plate is titled Corfiotisches Lied and contains local Corfu music) and Athens. He provides a detailed account of the emerging Greek state. Not in Atabey or Blackmer. Rare.
