Allgemeine Zeitung 5th of January 1822 The Pasha of Thessaloniki officially reports that the Greek forces in Kassandra have been destroyed. Following a battle that lasted 14 hours, the Greeks were forced to evacuate the area by ship. 600 Greek revolutionaries lost their lives on the battlefield. Nevertheless, the Greeks continue their raids in the neighboring regions of Halkidiki. Meanwhile, the Turks are reinforcing the siege of Ioannina.
