Allgemeine Zeitung 19th of December 1822 Several fire ships, under the command of Captain Miaoulis and Pipinos, set sail from Psara toward Tenedos. Prior to their departure, the captains attended a blessing of the waters (Sanctification). At the anchorage of Tenedos, the Psarians inflicted significant damage upon the Ottoman fleet and incinerated a large vessel armed with 120 cannons. In Missolonghi, the Greeks, with 17 ships and 5,000 soldiers, captured three Ottoman vessels; the Ottoman fleet subsequently retreated, surrendering the maritime zone of Nafpaktos-Corinth to the Greeks.
