Taitbout de Marigny (born in Koroni in Peloponnese) was an early explorer of the Black sea and the Dutch consul in Odessa. He was obsessed with the economic potential of the region that emerged after centuries of isolation. As Spencer, he remarked the Pontic Greeks to operate all around the coast.
