Very rare accounts published during the Great Turkish war regarding the Levant. It contains detailed descriptions of many places in Greece and the Balkans,not only of battles and conquests, but also general information on people, customs, trade, cities,ethnic composition, a kind of encyclopedia for the Levant. It contains 125 big plates (many folded) of several places of the Balkans and Greece (including Constantinople, Thessaloniki, Andrianople, Lefkada, Koroni, Kalamata, Smyrne, Abydos etc), rare maps and plans (naval battle of Lepanto/Nafpaktos, map of the Patraikos area, map of the golf of Koroni) and around 30 more in the text, in total more than 150 illustrations. Twenty two plates have fine 17th century full body coloring. An amazing Folio publication for the Levant of the utmost rarity.
