The open question and scientific debate of how exactly the Mausoleum was, continued (and is still ongoing).Stevenson (1831-1908), a prominent Scottish architect presented in 1897 his own version. He felt that the previous proposed restorations by Pullan and Ferguson lacked the Greek spirit and ignored the structural logic of the stone remains in British museum and on site. He argued that the Mausoleum was much taller than its remains suggest and more slender than Ferguson had imagined. The publication appear shortly after he passed away and it is famous for its large crisp plates that attempted to prove how the 36 massive columns and the chariot actually fit together at the top of the structure. A rare scientific publication on one of the seven wonders of Ancient Greece.
