In 12mo (14 × 8 cm). Contemporary fine vellum. Text clean and bright. Complete: 350 pp. From the library of the Duc de Brissac, with his fine armorial bookplate on front pastedown. Overall a fine copy. De Brève, a French diplomat and Orientalist, served for many years as French ambassador to Constantinople. Some of the contributors remain anonymous, but the whole publication reflects the urgent mobilization of that moment to support Candia and prevent its fall to the Turks. A rare and very interesting collection, absent from all major Levant libraries.
