Ferdinand Fenger (1805–1861), a Danish priest, traveled in Greece in 1831. He focused on the
local folklore of the contemporary Greek people, their traditions, customs, and ceremonies. A very early account of contemporary Greek society, providing rare insight into Greece at its very first steps as an independent state.
