Some very light scattered spotting in a few pages; overall a bright and clean copy of an important 16th-century work. Giovanni Tommaso Minadoi traveled in the East between 1577 and 1585, and his account, first printed in 1587, is based on his detailed notes. He provides a vivid description of Ottoman society and the empire at the height of its power, treating religion, administration, institutions, and the multinational composition of Ottoman society, all set within the broader context of the war against Persia.
