Overall in fine condition, with excellent provenance, a lovely copy. Taylor, an American traveler, visited Greece in the late 1850s. He provides a very detailed account of contemporary life in Athens, and toured extensively through the Morea and Evia before continuing to Crete. More than 300 pages of the work are devoted to his Greek travels, offering an exhaustive and vivid account of mid-19th century Greece.
