Dodwell undertook two tours in Greece, the first with Gell in 1801 to the Ionian islands and the Troad, the second later and explored mainland Greece. In his very detailed work describes both ancient and modern Greece.One of the classical travel account for prerevolutionary Greece. It is very richly illustrated with fine views of many Greek places.
